The Royal Thai Embassy on ul. Willowa in Warsaw is Thailand's visa office for people who live in Poland and Ukraine. Its e-Visa page says so in one line: residents of Poland and Ukraine, currently living there, apply through Warsaw, with proof of residency.
The practical catch is the residence rule. Polish and Ukrainian citizens who are in Thailand, or who live in a third country, cannot apply through Warsaw. The embassy says they must go back to their own country first, or apply to the Thai embassy where they now live.

Which Areas This Mission Covers
Warsaw covers two countries, and the test is where you live, not your passport:
- Poland. Polish nationals upload their Polish ID card (both sides). Foreigners upload their long-term or permanent Polish residence card.
- Ukraine. Ukrainian nationals upload their ID card or internal passport. The Thai Foreign Ministry's list of mission contact points (December 2025) also assigns Ukraine to Warsaw.
The Baltic states are not Warsaw's. The same Ministry list puts Estonia under Helsinki, Latvia under Stockholm and Lithuania under Copenhagen. Germany is split between Berlin and the consulates-general in Frankfurt and Munich, and the Czech Republic is Prague's.
There is also an honorary consulate in Kraków, covering Małopolskie, Silesia, Opolskie and Lower Silesia. Honorary consulates do not issue Thai visas; e-Visa applications from those provinces still go to Warsaw.
Do You Need a Visa?
For a holiday, Poles and Ukrainians do not. Since 15 September 2026, Polish and Ukrainian passport holders get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism. Warsaw's own visa page still carries the older 60-day wording from July 2024; the 30-day rule is the one in force.
- One extension of up to 30 days is available at any Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB, so about 60 days in total. See the visa exemption extension guide.
- Carry proof of onward travel within 30 days and funds of 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family).
- Entries on the exemption over land borders are limited to twice per calendar year.
- Travellers who entered before 15 September 2026 keep the stay they were given.
- File the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival.

You need the embassy for a longer tourist stay (the tourist visa gives 60 days per entry), for work, study or retirement (Non-Immigrant O, ED), or for the DTV.
How to Apply
Every visa type except the Privilege Entry Visa (Thailand Elite) is applied for online at thaievisa.go.th. Warsaw does not accept postal applications, and you do not send your passport.
- Create an account; one account can file up to 10 applications, so a family can apply together.
- Choose the Royal Thai Embassy, Warsaw, and the visa type.
- Upload your passport page, a photo taken in the last six months and proof of residence in Poland or Ukraine.
- Pay online by Visa or Mastercard. The fee is not refundable, including when you picked the wrong visa type.
- The approved e-Visa arrives by email. Print it and travel with it.
The embassy asks you to apply at least a month ahead, but not more than 3 months. It says applications from certain nationalities can take up to 3 months, and it cannot handle urgent requests. Documents in other languages need an official translation into Thai or English.
DTV at Warsaw
The DTV fee at Warsaw is 1,575 PLN (multiple entry, five years, up to 180 days per entry). The embassy asks for bank evidence of at least 500,000 THB, with a closing balance for the last month shown in English or a sworn English translation. Since 31 August 2026, DTV applicants must also be nationals or permanent residents of the country where they apply and add a criminal record certificate, under the Thai Foreign Ministry rule. Practical Notes
Book on Setmore. The consular counter works only by appointment, booked at thaiembassywarsaw.setmore.com. You don't need one for a visa, which is fully online, unless the embassy invites you to an interview.
Legalisation costs 80 PLN per stamp, in exact cash. The embassy legalises Thai documents already legalised by Thailand's Foreign Ministry. Polish documents must first be legalised by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bring originals and copies between 09:00 and 12:00; allow 2 to 3 working days.

Can I apply for a Thai visa at the Warsaw embassy in person?
No. Since 1 November 2022 all visa applications go through thaievisa.go.th, apart from the Privilege Entry Visa for Thailand Elite members. The embassy only sees visa applicants in person if it invites them to an interview.
How long does a Thai visa take in Poland?

Does the honorary consulate in Kraków issue Thai visas?
No. Honorary consulates do not issue visas. Applicants in southern Poland file their e-Visa with the embassy in Warsaw.
