The Royal Thai Embassy in Manila is the only Thai career mission in the Philippines. Every Thai visa for someone in the Philippines goes through it, and so do applications from Palau nationals who are in Palau. You apply online, with no in-person submission.
The mistake people make here is paying when they don't need to. From 15 September 2026, Filipino passport holders can visit Thailand for up to 30 days without any visa. For a longer holiday, the embassy's own e-Visa guidelines (as of 31 August 2026) say Filipino ordinary passport holders pay no visa fee if they pick the purpose "Duration of stay no longer than 59 days (Filipino holders of ordinary passports only)" on the portal. Choose the ordinary tourist visa option instead and you pay PHP 1,950 for a visa you could have had free.

Which Areas This Mission Covers
The embassy's e-Visa guidelines define its reach by where you are, not by region. Three groups can apply through Manila:
- Filipino nationals in the Philippines
- Foreign nationals currently in the Philippines, whether resident or visiting
- Palau nationals currently in the Republic of Palau
You must be physically present in the Philippines "throughout the application process", preferably in Manila, according to the embassy. If your file is incomplete, it can ask for more documents and call you in for an in-person interview. There is an honorary consul of Thailand in Cebu, but the embassy's visa guidelines route every application to Manila through the e-Visa portal. Don't plan around the Cebu office for a visa.
Do You Need a Visa?
Filipino citizens are on Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption list from 15 September 2026. You can extend once, by up to 30 days, at any Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB (form TM.7), which gets you to roughly 60 days in the country. The exemption covers tourism. At the border, officers can ask for proof of funds (20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family) and an onward ticket inside your 30 days. File the TDAC arrival card within three days before you land. Entries on the exemption through land borders are now capped at two per calendar year for Filipinos. If you entered before 15 September 2026, you keep the stay you were stamped for.
You need the embassy when you want:
- A stay of 31-59 days as a Filipino (use the no-fee purpose above)
- A Tourist Visa as a foreign national in the Philippines
- A Non-Immigrant visa for work, study, family or retirement, or an O-A long stay
- The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
- Legalisation of documents for use in Thailand

How to Apply
- Be in the Philippines (or Palau, for Palau nationals) and stay there until the visa is issued.
- Register at thaievisa.go.th and choose the Royal Thai Embassy, Manila. The embassy links a written manual and video manual from its guidelines.
- Type your name exactly as your passport shows it. If your passport has a middle name, enter it. If you have no middle or last name, leave the field blank. Do not type "N/A". The portal reads your bio page automatically, but you must check every field, because the embassy says errors lead to cancellation without a refund. For special characters, copy the spelling in your passport's machine-readable zone.
- Upload your documents. Most categories ask for a "document indicating current location" in the Philippines, such as a valid visa or receipts for flights or accommodation. The O-A and DTV checklists ask for proof of permanent residence instead.
- Pay online and wait for the approval email.

Statements in any language other than English need an English translation.
Practical Notes
Timing. Most visas are valid for 90 days from the day they are issued. Apply more than 90 days before your trip and the visa may expire before you use it. The embassy also advises applying at least a month ahead, because extra documents or an interview can stretch the 10-15 working days. Files submitted on a weekend or embassy holiday start on the next working day.
The DTV is for residents only. Manila's guidelines require proof of permanent residence in the country where you apply. Foreigners on a short visit to the Philippines cannot get a DTV here. Holders of Philippine resident visas must show funds in a local bank account.
Yellow fever. Applicants from countries on Thailand's yellow fever list must upload a vaccination certificate.
Nigerian nationals with a Philippine permanent resident visa have their own tourist-visa checklist. It asks for a police clearance from the country of residence and/or a clearance certificate from Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), authenticated by Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and legalised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja.
