The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait is Thailand's embassy in Kuwait, in the Bayan area. It handles Thai visas for foreign residents of Kuwait and for Kuwaiti citizens whose trip falls outside the visa exemption. All visa applications are made online.
One point needs correcting straight away. The embassy's main visa guide, written in 2025, still says Kuwaitis can stay 60 days without a visa. That rule ended on 14 September 2026. Since 15 September 2026 Kuwaiti passport holders get 30 days, and the embassy has posted a summary of the revised scheme on its news page.

Which Areas This Mission Covers
The embassy covers Kuwait. Its e-Visa guide is titled "Thailand e-Visa Guide for Residents in Kuwait", and it asks applicants to upload their Civil ID as proof of residency. Non-Kuwaiti nationals living in Kuwait must apply for a Thai visa before travel unless their own passport is exempt.
If you live elsewhere in the Gulf, use your own country's Thai mission: Riyadh or Jeddah for Saudi Arabia, Doha for Qatar, Muscat for Oman, and Abu Dhabi or Dubai for the UAE.
Do You Need a Visa?
Kuwaiti passport holders: no, for a holiday of up to 30 days. Kuwait is on the 30-day exemption list in force since 15 September 2026. You can extend once by up to 30 days at a Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB (how). The embassy's 2025 guide also says an extension of 30 days is possible.
Things that changed or still apply:
- 30 days, not 60. Ignore any page that says 60; the 60-day scheme was repealed.
- Tourism only. The embassy's 2025 guide also mentions short-term business, but the new exemption is for tourism. Business visitors should ask the embassy or get a Non-Immigrant B visa.
- Funds. Immigration may ask for 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family.
- Land borders. Exemption entries by land are capped at twice per calendar year.
- TDAC. The embassy reminds all travellers to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card at tdac.immigration.go.th within three days before arrival.

Kuwaiti nationals need a visa to stay longer than the exemption allows, or to work, study or receive long-term medical treatment. Non-Kuwaiti residents follow the rules for their own passport; the visa finder will tell you where you stand.
How to Apply
The embassy's guide sets out the steps:
- Register at thaievisa.go.th. Complete the form so that every detail matches your passport. Errors cannot be corrected after submission.
- Upload the documents:
- Passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel date
- Passport-size photo (JPG/JPEG, 300 PPI, maximum 3 MB, taken within six months)
- Civil ID as proof of residency in Kuwait
- Confirmed round-trip flight reservation
- Hotel booking or an invitation letter from your host in Thailand
- A recent bank statement and a salary certificate
- Translate anything not in English. The embassy wants a certified translation signed by a licensed translator, submitted with the original.
- Pay the fee online. Fees are non-refundable, and incorrect applications may be rejected.
- Wait. Minimum processing is three working days, and the embassy advises applying at least 10 working days before travel. It may ask for more documents or an interview by email.
- Print the approval and carry it at check-in and immigration.

Practical Notes
Salary certificate. The embassy's list asks for a salary certificate as well as a recent bank statement as financial proof. Get the certificate from your employer before you start the form.
Interviews are possible. The embassy reserves the right to call you in. Check the email address you registered with.
Consular hours are mornings only. For services other than visas, go between 09:00 and 13:00, Sunday to Thursday. The embassy posted its 2026 official holidays on its Working Hours page.
DTV rule since 31 August 2026. DTV applicants must now apply where they are a national or permanent resident and must add a criminal record clearance certificate. A Kuwaiti residence permit tied to employment may not count as permanent residence. Email the embassy first.
