The Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat, in the Shatti Al Qurum area, is Thailand's embassy in Oman. It also handles Thai visas for residents of Yemen. Applications go through the Thai e-Visa portal, but the embassy's visa page (last updated June 2025) says online payment was not yet available and the fee had to be paid in person at the embassy.
Omani citizens do not need a visa for a short holiday: since 15 September 2026 they get 30 days visa-free. The embassy's website is mostly in Thai, with the key visa pages in English.

About the villa number. The embassy's contact page gives "Villa No. 1339", while the site footer gives "Villa No. 1329" with a Thai note that the building number changed at the same location. Both put the embassy on Way No. 3017 in Shatti Al Qurum. Use the street and district, and phone ahead if you are visiting.
Which Areas This Mission Covers
The embassy states that from 1 January 2025 "a foreign national who is legally residing in the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen" applies through the e-Visa platform with Muscat as the mission. It adds that it "cannot" issue visas to foreigners who are not resident in Oman or Yemen.
So: if you live in Oman or Yemen, apply here. If you are visiting Oman on a tourist visa, apply in your country of residence. Residents of neighbouring countries use their own Thai mission, such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh or Kuwait.
Do You Need a Visa?
Omani passport holders are on Thailand's 30-day exemption list, in force since 15 September 2026. You can stay up to 30 days for tourism and extend once by up to 30 days at a Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB (extension guide).
The embassy's visa page still links a document titled "visa_exemption_60_days". That describes the scheme that ended on 14 September 2026. The current rules:
- 30 days, tourism only
- Funds of 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family, if asked
- Land-border exemption entries limited to twice per calendar year
- Thailand Digital Arrival Card at tdac.immigration.go.th within three days before arrival

Yemeni passport holders are not on any exemption or visa-on-arrival list and need a visa before travel. Other residents follow their own nationality's rules; the visa finder checks yours.
You need the embassy for a Tourist Visa, a Transit Visa, a Non-Immigrant visa (business, family, O-A retirement), the DTV, SMART or LTR visas, and document legalisation.
How to Apply
- Register at thaievisa.go.th and choose the Royal Thai Embassy, Muscat.
- Upload the tourist-visa documents on the embassy's list:
- Scanned passport biodata page, valid for at least six months
- Photo taken within six months (JPG/JPEG, up to 3 MB); no photo apps and no photo of a printed photo
- A letter from your company, employer or sponsor giving your name, occupation, position, salary, arrival date in Thailand and purpose of visit
- A copy of the company's commercial registration (CR)
- A copy of your Oman ID, both sides
- A confirmed return e-ticket
- A hotel booking in your name
- Business owners can write their own letter stating that they own the company, with full details, and attach proof of ownership.
- Pay the fee. Per the embassy's visa page, print the payment QR code and pay in person at the embassy. Check the current instructions on the page or by email before you go, since the portal may since have added online payment here.
- Wait up to 15 working days for a status update. If the embassy asks for more documents, allow up to 5 working days after you send them.
Apply about one month before departure and never more than three months ahead: most visas are valid for 90 days from issue, so an early visa can expire before your trip. Portal help: Thailand e-Visa guide.

Legalisation is 4 OMR per seal. All consular fees are non-refundable.
Practical Notes
Book by email. The fee announcement asks visa customers to make appointments through [email protected]. Thai passport, ID card and legalisation appointments are by phone on +968 2460 2684 ext. 17.
Phone inquiries have set windows. Consular questions by phone are answered 08:00–09:00 and 12:00–13:00.
Weekend. The embassy works Sunday to Thursday, closing Friday and Saturday. Go by the embassy's own site for hours.
DTV since 31 August 2026. DTV applicants now need proof of permanent residence and a criminal record clearance certificate. An Omani work residence card may not count as permanent residence, so email the embassy before paying 140 OMR.
