Nakhon Ratchasima Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดนครราชสีมา), the office everyone calls Korat Immigration, handles extensions of stay, 90-day reports, re-entry permits and TM30 for foreigners living in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Two things catch people out. The office is not in the city centre: it is on the Ratchasima-Chok Chai road in Tambon Nong Bua Sala, south-east of town, in the building that used to be the Immigration Division 4 headquarters. And older directories, the Immigration Bureau's own unit list among them, still show its previous temporary homes out in Chok Chai district, most often the building lent by Dan Kwian municipality at 7 Moo 7. It has been at 323 Moo 9 since 1 August 2017.

The Ratchasima-Chok Chai road runs south-east out of the city towards Chok Chai. The Google Map embedded on the office's contact page is centred at roughly 14.907, 102.150. Put that point or the Thai name above into your map app rather than just "Korat immigration", which can still bring up the old Dan Kwian address. If you are coming by Grab or taxi, show the driver the Thai address.

Extension of stay on a visa exemption or tourist visa
- Form TM.7 with one photo taken within the last six months
- Passport, plus copies of the photo page, latest entry stamp and current permission to stay
- 1,900 THB fee
- Your Thai address and the TM30 receipt if you have one

Retirement and marriage extensions
National criteria published by Immigration Division 1. Retirement: age 50 or over, and 65,000 THB monthly income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank for two months before filing and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. Marriage: a foreign husband of a Thai wife needs 40,000 THB a month or 400,000 THB held in a Thai bank for the past two months; Division 1 lists no income figure for a foreign wife of a Thai husband. Both spouses attend in person. Fee 1,900 THB. 90-day report (TM.47)
Free. File from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date. Late filers report in person and pay a 2,000 THB fine; 5,000 THB if you are caught without reporting (Immigration Bureau). TM30
The house owner, landlord or hotel must notify immigration within 24 hours of a foreigner moving in (Immigration Act, Section 38). "Can I file TM30 online or do I have to come in?" is one of the recurring questions on the office's Q&A board; owners can register for the Immigration Bureau's online system. See our TM30 guide.
Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, citizens of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of the EU and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism. The 60-day scheme was repealed that day; anyone who entered before 15 September keeps the stay they were given. At Korat you can extend a 30-day exempt stay once, by up to 30 days, for 1,900 THB. Immigration Division 1's criteria cap that extension at 7 days for nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda, so confirm the length at the counter if that applies to you.

Border Runs from Korat
Nakhon Ratchasima has no international land border. The nearest working option is the Laos crossing at Nong Khai (Laos visa run guide). Thai-Cambodian land checkpoints were still closed at the last report we found: on 1 June 2026 the government spokesperson said the Aranyaprathet checkpoint had not reopened, and the Prime Minister had said in May that the checkpoints would stay closed until Cambodia accepted Thailand's conditions (Nation Thailand). Do not plan a Cambodian run without checking first (Cambodia visa run guide). Confirm any crossing is open before you travel.
Since 15 September 2026, entries on the 30-day exemption over land are capped at twice per calendar year, except for nationals of Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore. Officers can ask for 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family in funds and an onward ticket within your stay.
