Lampang Provincial Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดลำปาง) is the office for foreigners who live in Lampang province. It handles visa extensions, 90-day reports, re-entry permits and TM30 notifications, and it sits under Immigration Division 5, the same command as Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. The office is at 400 Moo 4, Tambon Kluai Phae, Mueang Lampang. Two things catch people out. Older directories still carry the office's first address from 2016, a police building on Buntawat Kao Road in town. And the "Maps and address" pages on the office's own website currently show Chiang Rai Immigration's address in Mae Sai, left over from a shared template. Use the Kluai Phae address on the office's contact page.

Which Areas This Office Covers
The office was set up as a provincial immigration office by a Royal Thai Police announcement of 25 April 2016 and serves Lampang province. Its own history page says it first worked out of the Lampang provincial police investigation building at 3 Buntawat Kao Road, Tambon Hua Wiang, and that it now works from 400 Moo 4, Kluai Phae. If a map pin or an old forum post sends you to Buntawat Kao Road, it is out of date.

Getting There
The office's contact page links a Google Maps pin for the Kluai Phae building. Use that pin, not the "Maps and address" page, which on 27 September 2026 still showed Chiang Rai's Mae Sai address. If you are unsure, call 054-209-534 before you set out.

The office's E-Service page links the Immigration Bureau's online systems: TM47 for 90-day reports, TM30 for accommodation notifications, the e-Extension portal at thaiextension.vfsevisa.com, TDAC for arrivals and thaievisa.go.th for visas applied for from abroad.
Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay
The Immigration Bureau's published documents:
- Form TM.7, filed by you in person
- Copies of your passport photo page, visa (if any) and latest entry stamp
- One photo, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last six months
- 1,900 THB fee
Under the Bureau's criteria, nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda get no more than 7 days. Everyone else can get up to 30 days. More in our visa exemption extension guide.
Retirement and marriage extensions
National criteria, same fee of 1,900 THB:
- Retirement: age 50 or over, and either 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. See the retirement extension guide.

90-day report (TM.47)
Free. The window runs from 15 days before to 7 days after your due date; miss it and you report in person and pay 2,000 THB. Re-entry permit (TM.8)
1,000 THB single, 3,800 THB multiple. Without one, leaving Thailand cancels an extension of stay. See the re-entry permit guide.

Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism, replacing the 60-day scheme. Anyone who entered before 15 September keeps the stay they were given. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days; Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are the only nationalities still on Visa on Arrival. On arrival the officer can ask for 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family) and an onward ticket within your stay, and you must file the TDAC within 3 days before arrival. At this office you can extend a 30-day exempt stay once, by up to 30 days, for 1,900 THB, which gives about 60 days in total (7 days, not 30, for the nationalities on the Bureau's list above). For anything longer you need a visa, most of them applied for at thaievisa.go.th from outside Thailand. Remote workers usually look at the DTV; since 31 August 2026 it must be applied for where you are a national or permanent resident. Retirees need a Non-Immigrant O. Border Crossings and Visa Runs
Lampang province has no international border, so there is no crossing near the office. The nearest land borders are in Chiang Rai and Nan provinces. Before planning a run, note that since 15 September 2026 entries on the visa exemption through land borders are capped at twice per calendar year (nationals of Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore are excepted). The Thailand-Cambodia land border has been closed since July 2025, so the Cambodia route is not an option from anywhere in Thailand.
Practical Notes
- Book online. The English front page links a Microsoft Bookings calendar called "Lampang Immigration Office".
- Hours are not published by the office itself. The Immigration Bureau's office-hours list does not include Lampang. The public-service manuals the office posts give the national standard: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30 with a lunch break, closed on official holidays, while noting that each office keeps its own hours. Call 054-209-534 before you travel.
- Email: [email protected]. The Thai contact page displays it as "[email protected]", with a capital I, but the page's own email links and the English contact page use [email protected].
- Ignore the office's own "Maps and address" pages for now. On 27 September 2026 both the Thai and English versions showed Chiang Rai Immigration's Mae Sai address.
