It handles visa extensions, 90-day reports, re-entry permits and TM30, and it takes bookings online. It is in Tambon Hua Ro, Mueang Phitsanulok. Getting There

Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay

Retirement and marriage extensions
National criteria, fee 1,900 THB:
- Retirement: age 50 or over, with 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination. O-A holders also need health insurance of at least USD 100,000 or 3,000,000 THB. See the retirement extension guide.

90-day report (TM.47)
Free. You can report from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date; after that you go in person and pay a 2,000 THB fine. Your first report can't be filed online: make it at the office, through someone you authorise, or by registered post. After that, use tm47.immigration.go.th, which the office website links. Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism. People who entered before 15 September keep the stay they were given. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days, and only Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are still on Visa on Arrival. On arrival the officer can ask for 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family) and an onward ticket, and you file the TDAC at tdac.immigration.go.th within 3 days before arrival. At this office you can extend a 30-day exempt stay once, by up to 30 days, for 1,900 THB. For anything longer you need a visa: a Non-Immigrant O for retirees, or the DTV for remote workers, which since 31 August 2026 you can only apply for where you are a national or permanent resident. Nearest Border Crossings and Visa Runs
Phitsanulok has no border checkpoint, so a land "border bounce" means a long trip, and it is less useful than it used to be.
- Myanmar, via Mae Sot (Tak): the closest crossing, handled by Tak Immigration in Mae Sot. We could not confirm that foreign tourists can currently cross there. Check with Tak Immigration before you go.
- Laos: the Nong Khai-Vientiane route over the First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge; see the Laos visa run. Note that since 31 August 2026 the DTV can no longer be applied for in Vientiane unless you are Lao or a Lao permanent resident.
- Cambodia: the Thai-Cambodia land border has been closed since July 2025.
Remember the cap. Exempt entries by land are limited to two per calendar year (Malaysian, Bruneian, Indonesian and Singaporean nationals excepted). If you have used both, fly in or get a visa.
Practical Notes
- Book online. The office website and the Immigration Bureau's Division 5 page both link a Microsoft Bookings calendar for "Phitsanulok Immigration".
- Try e-Extension first. The office website promotes the Bureau's e-Extension portal (thaiextension.vfsevisa.com). Check whether your kind of extension is covered before you make the trip.
- The phone number is labelled two ways. The Thai contact page lists 055-247-722 as the office phone; the English page labels the same number as a fax. If it doesn't pick up, message the office on Facebook or LINE.
- Permanent residence. The office publishes the annual call for residence permit applications (quotas by nationality) on its website.
