Nakhon Si Thammarat Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช) is the provincial immigration office for Nakhon Si Thammarat. Foreigners living anywhere in the province, including the beach districts of Khanom and Sichon, come here for visa extensions, 90-day reports, re-entry permits and TM30. The office is at 151 Moo 10, Tambon Pak Phun, in Mueang district. Khanom sits on the Gulf coast right next to Surat Thani province, which leads some residents to assume they belong to Surat Thani. They don't: Khanom is in Nakhon Si Thammarat, and this is your office.

Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay
The Immigration Bureau's published documents:
- Form TM.7, filed by you in person
- Copies of your passport photo page, visa (if any) and latest entry stamp
- One photo, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last six months
- 1,900 THB fee
Nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda get no more than 7 days under the Bureau's criteria. Everyone else can get up to 30 days. See visa exemption extension.
Retirement and marriage extensions
National criteria, fee 1,900 THB. Retirement: age 50 or over, and either 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. Marriage to a Thai national: average income of 40,000 THB a month, or 400,000 THB in a Thai bank held for the previous two months. See the retirement extension guide.
90-day report (TM.47)
Free. File from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date; late reports mean going in person and paying 2,000 THB, or 5,000 THB if you're caught. The first report can't be filed online: make it in person, through someone you authorise, or by registered post at least 15 days before the due date. TM30: this office enforces it
TM30 is the report that a house owner, landlord or hotel must make when a foreigner stays with them, within 24 hours. The office's investigation unit publishes its enforcement. On 25 June 2026, for example, it fined a 53-year-old Thai man in the town area for failing to report a foreign guest within 24 hours. The fine falls on the host, not the guest. Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism, replacing the 60-day scheme. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days; Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are the only nationalities still on Visa on Arrival. The officer at your point of entry can ask for 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family) and an onward ticket within your stay, and you file the TDAC at tdac.immigration.go.th within 3 days before arrival. At this office you can extend a 30-day exempt stay once, by up to 30 days, for 1,900 THB (7 days for the nationalities above). For longer stays you need a visa, usually applied for at thaievisa.go.th before you travel: the DTV for remote workers (since 31 August 2026, only in your country of nationality or permanent residence), a Non-Immigrant O for retirees. Nearby Border Crossings
Nakhon Si Thammarat has no land border. The nearest crossings into Malaysia are in Songkhla province, at Sadao (listed by the Immigration Bureau as open daily 05:00-23:00) and Padang Besar; our Hat Yai Immigration page and Malaysia visa run guide cover them. Since 15 September 2026, entries on the visa exemption through land borders are capped at two per calendar year (Malaysian, Bruneian, Indonesian and Singaporean nationals excepted).
