Nonthaburi Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดนนทบุรี) is the provincial immigration office for foreigners who live in Nonthaburi, the province directly north-west of Bangkok. That includes Pak Kret and Muang Thong Thani, which sit right next to Bangkok's Chaeng Wattana Government Complex. Many residents assume they should file at Chaeng Wattana. The official sources say otherwise. Nonthaburi is a separate provincial office under Immigration Division 3, and its published area of responsibility covers all six districts and 52 subdistricts of the province, Pak Kret among them. Chaeng Wattana is Immigration Division 1, which serves Bangkok.
Check for closures before you go. Besides the regular public holidays, the office can close at short notice for special holidays. Check its Facebook page for closures before you travel.

Nonthaburi or Chaeng Wattana?
This is the question most people ask, so here is what each official source says.
- Nonthaburi Immigration's area of responsibility. The office publishes a map and a table: "responsible for 6 districts (52 subdistricts)". Pak Kret district is listed with 12 subdistricts, including Ban Mai, Bang Talat, Khlong Kluea, Bang Phut and Koh Kret. Its boundary description names Don Mueang, Lak Si and Bang Sue districts of Bangkok as the eastern neighbours.
- Immigration Division 3. Its list of provincial offices includes Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani, as separate units from Bangkok.
- The Immigration Bureau's hours list. It gives "ตม.จว.นนทบุรี" (Nonthaburi Immigration) and "ตม.จว.ปทุมธานี" (Pathum Thani Immigration) as their own offices, Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30.
- Immigration Division 1. Its website says of its online extension service: "We provide services only in Bangkok zone."

One address confuses people. The Immigration Bureau's headquarters, and Division 3's contact address, is 904 Moo 6, Ban Mai, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. That is the Bureau's head office. The office's own area table is the source for where residents file.

Finding the Office
The office's website does not publish a written street address; its location page shows a Google Maps pin only. Use that pin for directions. Naewna's report of the building's opening on 3 December 2018 gave the address as 954 Moo 1, Soi Ruam Mit, Nakhon In Road, Tambon Bang Khanun, Amphoe Bang Kruai. That is a press report, not an office notice, so we don't give it in our address data. Call 02-408-2320 if the pin and the press address don't agree.
How the Process Works
The office publishes its extension procedure as a seven-step graphic:
- Fill in form TM.7 and prepare your documents.
- Take a queue ticket and wait.
- Hand in the application with your passport for checking (about 25 minutes).
- Blacklist and watchlist check (about 1 minute).
- Pay the fee and receive the permission stamp (about 5 minutes).
- Data and photo recorded in the system (about 3 minutes).
- Collect your passport.
The times are the office's own estimates for each step, not including your wait for a queue number.
Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay
The Immigration Bureau's published documents:
- Form TM.7, filed by you in person
- Copies of your passport photo page, visa (if any) and latest entry stamp
- One photo, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last six months
- 1,900 THB fee
The Bureau caps this extension at 7 days for nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda; others can get up to 30. See visa exemption extension.
Retirement and marriage extensions
National criteria, fee 1,900 THB. Retirement: age 50 or over, with 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. Marriage to a Thai national: 40,000 THB a month in income, or 400,000 THB held in a Thai bank for the previous two months, with both spouses attending. See the retirement extension guide.

- 90-day report (TM.47): free. File from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date, or pay a 2,000 THB fine in person. The first report is made in person, through someone you authorise, or by registered post; after that, online at tm47.immigration.go.th. See 90-day reporting.

Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism, replacing the 60-day scheme. Anyone who entered before 15 September keeps the stay they were given. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days; Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are the only nationalities left on Visa on Arrival. Practical Notes
- No online booking. The Immigration Bureau's appointment calendars cover Bangkok and Divisions 4 to 6. Nonthaburi is in Division 3, and its own procedure starts with a queue ticket at the office. Arrive early.
- Building works. The office has published tenders for work around its building to fix standing water and subsidence. Expect some disruption on site if the work is under way.
