Pathum Thani Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดปทุมธานี) is the provincial immigration office for foreigners living in Pathum Thani, the province north of Bangkok that takes in Rangsit, Thanyaburi, Khlong Luang and Lam Luk Ka. The province is home to Thammasat's Rangsit campus, AIT and other universities, and many of their foreign staff and students assume they should go to Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok. They shouldn't. The Immigration Bureau lists Pathum Thani as its own provincial office under Immigration Division 3, open Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30. Chaeng Wattana is Immigration Division 1, which serves Bangkok.
A warning before you rely on anything online for this office: when we checked on 27 September 2026, its website (pathumthani.imm.police.go.th, the link Division 3 gives) did not load for us. It returned an access-denied error from outside Thailand and a placeholder page through a reader service. That means we could not read the office's own address, phone number or notices, and we don't publish an address or phone for it on this page. See "Finding the Office" below for what to do instead.
Check for closures before you go. Besides the regular public holidays, the office can close at short notice for special holidays. Check its Facebook page, or call 1178, before you travel.

Pathum Thani or Chaeng Wattana?
What the official sources say:
- The Immigration Bureau's office-hours list gives "ตม.จว.ปทุมธานี" (Pathum Thani Immigration) as a separate office, Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, next to its entries for Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan.
- Immigration Division 3 lists Pathum Thani among its provincial offices. Its news pages show the office at work in the province: on 20 June 2025 Pathum Thani Immigration officers made arrests at a house in Bueng Kham Phroi, Lam Luk Ka, and handed the case to Lam Luk Ka police.
- Immigration Division 1 runs Chaeng Wattana. Its website says of its online extension service: "We provide services only in Bangkok zone."
So if you live in Pathum Thani province, your extension and first 90-day report go to Pathum Thani Immigration. That includes Rangsit and Thanyaburi, Khlong Luang (Thammasat Rangsit, AIT, Bangkok University Rangsit), Lam Luk Ka, Lat Lum Kaeo, Sam Khok, Nong Suea and Mueang Pathum Thani. The Immigration Bureau does not publish Pathum Thani's area as a district list that we could read, and the office's website was down. If you live on a boundary, for example on a road that crosses between Lam Luk Ka and Bangkok's Sai Mai, go by the province on your address documents, and ask the call centre (1178) if you're unsure.
Finding the Office
We found the office's street address only on map listings and relocation-agent pages, which the site does not treat as sources, and in search-engine copies of the office's own website, which we could not open to confirm. The office's Facebook page (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดปทุมธานี) lists its location as Amphoe Mueang Pathum Thani.
Before your first visit:
- Call the Immigration Bureau call centre on 1178 and ask for Pathum Thani Immigration's current address and number.
- Check the office's Facebook page for its pinned address and any notices.
- If your university or employer's international office has sent staff there recently, ask them for the current location and queue times.

Services and What to Bring
These are national rules that apply at every provincial office.
Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay
The Immigration Bureau's published documents:
- Form TM.7, filed by you in person
- Copies of your passport photo page, visa (if any) and latest entry stamp
- One photo, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last six months
- 1,900 THB fee
The Bureau caps this extension at 7 days for nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda; others can get up to 30. See visa exemption extension.
Study, work, retirement and marriage extensions
Students on a Non-Immigrant ED extend with a letter from their institution; see the education visa extension guide. Staff with work permits follow the business visa extension route. Retirement: age 50 or over, with 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. Marriage to a Thai national: 40,000 THB a month, or 400,000 THB in a Thai bank for the previous two months, with both spouses attending. Fee for each: 1,900 THB.
90-day report, re-entry permit, TM30
- 90-day report (TM.47): free. File from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date, or pay a 2,000 THB fine in person. The first report is made in person, through someone you authorise, or by registered post. After that, file online at tm47.immigration.go.th, which does not depend on the office's website. - Re-entry permit (TM.8): 1,000 THB single, 3,800 THB multiple. Leaving without one cancels your extension. See the re-entry permit guide.

Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism, replacing the 60-day scheme. Anyone who entered before 15 September keeps the stay they were given. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days; Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are the only nationalities left on Visa on Arrival. The exemption is for tourism. To study you need an ED visa, to work a Non-Immigrant B and a work permit, and to retire a Non-Immigrant O. Most are applied for at thaievisa.go.th before you travel. The visa finder will narrow it down.
Practical Notes
- Arrive early. We found no online booking for any Division 3 office, including this one.
- Use the online systems where you can. Later 90-day reports (tm47.immigration.go.th) and TM30 (tm30.immigration.go.th) run on national systems that are unaffected by the office website being down.
- Bring two copies. Neighbouring Division 3 offices ask for two sets of documents for long-stay extensions; bringing a spare set costs little.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Pathum Thani residents go to Chaeng Wattana for immigration?
No. The Immigration Bureau lists Pathum Thani Immigration as a separate provincial office under Division 3. Chaeng Wattana is the main office of Immigration Division 1, Bangkok's division.
I live in Rangsit. Which immigration office do I use?
Rangsit is in Pathum Thani province (Thanyaburi and Khlong Luang districts), so you use Pathum Thani Immigration. If your address is on the Bangkok side, in Don Mueang or Sai Mai, you use Division 1.
Where is Pathum Thani immigration office?
The office's Facebook page lists it in Mueang Pathum Thani district. We could not read a street address on an official page on 27 September 2026 because the office website was not loading. Call 1178 to confirm before you go.
