Samut Prakan Immigration (ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ) is the office for foreigners who live in Samut Prakan province, the area south-east of Bangkok that includes Bang Phli, Bang Bo, Bang Sao Thong, Phra Pradaeng and the land around Suvarnabhumi airport. Residents here do not file at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok. They come to this office, which since 1 April 2024 has been back in its original building on Sutthiphirom Road in Pak Nam, near BTS Pak Nam station. Any address in Bang Phli you find for it dates from the years it spent in a temporary site there.
Check for closures before you go. Besides the regular public holidays, the office can close at short notice for special holidays. It posts closures on its website's holidays page and its Facebook page.

Racha Thewa and Nong Prue cover much of the Suvarnabhumi area and its housing estates. If you live there, this is your office.
Suvarnabhumi airport's own immigration is a separate unit. It handles arrivals and departures, not residents' extensions. Samut Prakan's office also inspects ships: its slides list one permitted water entry channel and 50 ports and piers in its area.
Bangkok neighbours. Bang Na, Prawet and Lat Krabang are Bangkok districts, so people living there deal with Immigration Division 1, whose main office is at Chaeng Wattana. Getting There
The office's relocation notice gives "Suthibirom Road, Tambon Paknam" and tells visitors it is near BTS Pak Nam station. Its Thai contact page gives the full address with Soi 2. A notice on the office website from February 2024 announced the return to this original building from 1 April 2024. The website still has an old "Map for Samut Prakan Immigration in Bang Phli" page from the temporary period, so use the Pak Nam address instead.
Services and What to Bring
The office's visa-information page lists: extension of stay (tourism, business, retirement, study, family of a Thai national, Section 15 diplomatic and official), request and change of visa type, residence notification (TM30), 90-day notification, certificates of residence and annual residence applications. A separate desk (095-095-1178) handles migrant workers from neighbouring countries.
Extension of a visa-exempt or tourist stay
The Immigration Bureau's published documents:
- Form TM.7, filed by you in person
- Copies of your passport photo page, visa (if any) and latest entry stamp
- One photo, 4 x 6 cm, taken within the last six months
- 1,900 THB fee
The Bureau caps this extension at 7 days for nationals of Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Nepal, Togo, Nigeria and Uganda; others can get up to 30. See visa exemption extension.
Marriage and retirement extensions
The office's own checklist for a foreign husband supporting a Thai wife asks for TM.7, passport and Non-Immigrant visa, the marriage certificate (certified by your embassy if registered abroad) and family registration, your wife's ID card and house registration, children's birth certificates, a Thai bank letter showing more than 400,000 THB held for two months with the bank book, or certified income of more than 40,000 THB a month, plus a map to your home and family photos. It asks for two sets of documents. The national fee is 1,900 THB, and both spouses attend.
Retirement follows the national criteria: age 50 or over, with 65,000 THB a month in income, or 800,000 THB in a Thai bank held for two months before applying and three months after approval (then not below 400,000 THB), or a combination totalling 800,000 THB. See the retirement extension guide.
90-day report, re-entry permit, TM30
- 90-day report (TM.47): free. File from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date, or pay a 2,000 THB fine in person. The first report is made in person, through someone you authorise, or by registered post; later ones can go online at tm47.immigration.go.th. See 90-day reporting.

Do You Need a Visa?
Since 15 September 2026, nationals of 60 countries and territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe and India, get a 30-day visa exemption for tourism, replacing the 60-day scheme. Anyone who entered before 15 September keeps the stay they were given. Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days; Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia are the only nationalities left on Visa on Arrival. At Suvarnabhumi the officer can ask for 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family) and an onward ticket, and you must file the TDAC within 3 days before arrival. You can extend a 30-day exempt stay here once, by up to 30 days, for 1,900 THB. For longer you need a visa: a Non-Immigrant O for retirement or a Thai family, a Non-Immigrant B for work, or the DTV, applied for where you are a national or permanent resident. The visa finder will narrow it down.
Practical Notes
- Hours: trust the Thai page. The office's Thai contact page and the Immigration Bureau list give 08:30-16:30 with a 12:00-13:00 lunch break. The English version of the same page says "8:30 AM – 1:30 PM", which looks like a typo, but arrive in the morning to be safe.
- No online booking. The Immigration Bureau's appointment calendars cover Bangkok and Divisions 4 to 6. Samut Prakan is in Division 3 and has none.
- LINE. The office lists LINE accounts for 90-day reports and residence notification, and for extensions, on its "Samut Prakan Immigration on LINE" page.

I live near Suvarnabhumi. Do I go to Chaeng Wattana?
If your address is in Samut Prakan province, for example Racha Thewa or Bang Phli, you go to Samut Prakan Immigration. If you live in a Bangkok district such as Lat Krabang or Bang Na, you deal with Immigration Division 1 in Bangkok, whose main office is at Chaeng Wattana.
